Englewood and Tenafly residents are being asked to keep an eye out for a white-tailed deer who has gotten itself into quite a tangle.
"The Englewood Health Officer reached out to Bergen County Animal Control who is aware (as is Fish & Wildlife) that there are deer in the Tenafly/Englewood area that have some sort of netting and plastic planter material on them," wrote Englewood Councilwoman Lisa Wisotsky in a post on Facebook Aug. 20, adding that the deer is mobile, able to eat, and will run away when approached.
Only the one tangled deer has been reported as of recent, according to Englewood Health Officer James Fedorko, who said that, while this type of situation is not common, it has happened before when deer get caught in clotheslines or other such materials.
