SUFFOLK, Va. — A Suffolk high school teacher faces several charges related to drugs on school property, according to a release from Suffolk Public Schools.

The school division said the teacher, identified by police as 41-year-old Sara Jordan, was charged with consumption of marijuana on school property, distributing drugs on school property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

She has since been arrested.

School officials say the active investigation centers on the 2024-25 school year.

“We are committed to providing a safe, supportive learning environment for every student," said Superintendent Dr. John B. Gordon III. "We take this matter very seriously and will continue to cooperate fully with the Suffolk Police Department.”
