NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - For the first time in the preseason, the Saints will start the same quarterback in consecutive games.

Second-year player Spencer Rattler will start over rookie Tyler Shough when the Saints take the field Saturday (Aug. 23) at noon on Fox 8, the team confirms.

Even with Rattler getting the start for the final preseason contest, it’s still likely not safe to assume the quarterback competition is over. Still, there’s an indication that Spencer may be gaining traction towards the finish line.
