Ever wanted to get behind the scenes of the Niagara Falls illumination tower?
You’ll have the opportunity to do so as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations for the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, the binational organization responsible for the lighting displays the public has long associated with the falls at night.
For the first time, the public will be able to participate in free guided tours of the tower, from Oct. 17 to 19 between 6 and 11 p.m.
People can book their time slot online for an exclusive tour and a behind-the-scenes look at how the falls are illuminated each night. Parking is free with a confirmed reservation.
The tower is hidden inside Ontario Power Co.’s surge tank building, beside Queen Victoria Place Restaurant.
