DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) — A dog was adopted and is headed to its permanent home on Friday after it was found abandoned and tied to a crate on July 26.
A passerby took the dog and contacted the authorities when it was found on the side of Prindle Avenue without adequate food or water, according to police. The dog was treated for mange and dental issues. Veterinarians stated that these were caused by neglect and poor diet.
Animal control officers determined that the dog was named Rocky and that it was owned by 41-year-old Precius Goodwin. Goodwin admitted during a police interview to abandoning Rocky because she could no longer take care of him.
The Derby Police Department announced on Thursday that it is happy to report that Rocky is doing great and is on his way to a full recovery. The dog
