The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed after a stabbing earlier this month at John Champion Park in Reno.
Officials said Juan Francisco-Martinez, 48, was found injured at the park about 10:50 p.m. Aug. 9. Reno police responded to the park at 957 Kuenzli St., near the Truckee River just west of Kietzke Lane, for a reported medical emergency.
Officers found Francisco-Martinez with stab wounds and began life-saving measures until REMSA arrived and took him to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy determined he died from multiple stab wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
