LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- The ongoing saga regarding the potential closure and repurposing of a Lakewood City Schools elementary building continues.

Earlier this week, a handful of volunteers from the district-convened 50-member community task force, charged with studying the future of the district’s seven elementary schools, spoke during a public comment portion at the Board of Education meeting.

“As a task force member, I, along with several others, chose to speak at the Board of Education meeting because we felt that the draft report should be made available to the public, which is something the board and superintendent are unable to do due to the demand letter that was submitted by Friends of Lakewood in May,” Melanie Whiting said.
