CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland Metroparks commissioners on Thursday approved a partnership with Ceres + LaPine Development to work on transforming a section of the Columbus Peninsula in the Flats into a mixed-use riverfront destination.
The 4.29-acre site between Merwin’s Wharf and the Center Street (Swing) Bridge includes familiar buildings such as the former Grain Craft silos and the old Catanese Classics seafood building. Both could be preserved under a redevelopment plan expected to seek state historic tax credits this fall.
A final contract with the Gates Mills development firm still needs to be completed.
