LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- The makeovers at Lakewood’s Merl-Bunts Park and Niagara Park are nearly complete.

The latter’s roughly $80,000 project included the addition of a new swing, picnic tables, a jungle gym and slides at the cozy recreation amenity located south of I-90.

“Everything went great, Niagara Park is open,” Lakewood Senior City Planner Michelle Nochta said. “We had the ribbon-cutting a few weeks ago.

“Merl-Bunts Park’s new playground is also complete. We’re waiting for the installation of the picnic shelter that should go in this week or next. It’s designed so you could have a small children’s birthday party or parents can sit underneath while watching the kids on the playground. Also, the drinking fountain is going to be installed.”
