Bolívar State Governor Yulisbeth García reported that since the first movement of the Orinoco and Caroní rivers to rise, more than 7.000 families in the state have received comprehensive assistance.
García explained that despite the rising rivers and the effects of the climate phenomenon, the civic, military, and police unity "has allowed us to provide an immediate response, addressing the various needs that families may have."
He also noted that of the 7.000 families served, only 10% are in shelters, which confirms, in his opinion, "the effectiveness of a preventative policy instructed by President Nicolás Maduro."
