LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man was charged with first-degree assault on Tuesday, months after court documents allege he sucker punched a man outside a bar .

Juan Silva, 23, was arraigned in Lancaster County Court on Tuesday and had his bond set at 10 percent of $100,000.

Officers were called to Barry’s Bar near 9th and Q streets shortly after 1 a.m. on May 10 for a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers found a 28-year-old Lincoln man unconscious in front of the bar.

A witness reported the victim was causing issues outside the bar and got into an argument with Silva. Court documents allege that’s when Silva punched the victim one time in the head, knocking him out.

They said it stemmed from an argument between the victim and another man about wanting to get back into the bar
