SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Crittenton Center is celebrating 130 years, serving kids in Siouxland.

This center serves kids from birth to age 17, providing short-term shelter to youth from across Iowa.

Kids can be under Crittenton Center’s care for many reasons, like abuse, family issues, awaiting foster care placement, working as a crisis intervention, a place for family visitation, and supportive services.

In 1895, it originally opened as the Florence Crittenton Home to serve pregnant women.

For the 130th year, it’s celebrating this milestone, trying to raise $130,000 to fuel the next generation of support, stability, and solutions.
