ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV) - An iconic business in the Iowa Great Lakes region is celebrating a major milestone.

For 80 summers, a visit to the Nutty Bar Stand has been a beloved tradition for many. A place where frozen treats and memories are made.

“I worked here in high school,” The Nutty Bar Stand owner Kira Jensen reminisced.

For her, those memories go way back.

“I always kind of joked with Doug, ‘If you are ever going to sell the Nutty Bar stand, I want to buy it,” said Jensen.

And 9 years ago, that dream became a reality.

“Nina Brown opened up the stand selling Nutty Bars and homemade root beer,” explained Jensen.

Over the years, the stand has been updated, but its charm and menu staples remain constant... with a few additions.
