To help remember those lost to addiction, as well as show families they’re not alone, Reach Out Chatham-Kent hosted visitors on Wednesday to mark international overdose awareness day.
The drop-in organization held two events at its Chatham and Wallaceburg locations, with members of the public, volunteers and representatives from various support agencies in attendance.
Renee Geniole, ROCK executive director, said the aim is to bring comfort to affected families, while continuing to raise awareness on the issue.
“I just think it’s very important that we honour their memory,” she said. “And we all come back together, and keep trying to bring education to our community, and keep it at the forefront.”
