WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - It’s moving in time for colleges around the North Country.
On Thursday, new students were settling in at Jefferson Community College in Watertown.
For the fall, JCC reports enrollment is up 3.5 percent and the number of adult learners is up almost 25 percent, perhaps due to the state’s free tuition for eligible students.
Meanwhile, at SUNY Potsdam, the campus was lively on Tuesday as first-year students moved into their dorm rooms for the fall semester.
“I just hope to be able to make new friends. It’s a big adjustment from high school and just to like, get to know the campus and people,” said Ryan Zollweg.
Zollweg is a freshman from Long Island studying music education. His chorus teacher, a SUNY Potsdam alum, inspired him to come to SUNY Potsdam.
