PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Thursday was Move-In Day at the University of Portland (UP). As crowds of incoming students moved into their dorm rooms, both students and the university said they’re prepared for the upcoming heat wave.

“Pretty much my whole life is packed up with me here,” said Johnathan Rapp, an incoming freshman at UP.

Even though the start of the fall semester is still a few days away, the summer weather is sticking around. Portland is expecting to see triple digit temperatures this weekend, but these incoming Portland Pilots packed accordingly.

“Me and my fan will power through,” Rapp said.

And the university said it’s prepared to beat the heat.

“We have air-conditioned residence halls,” said UP President Dr. Robert Kelly. “No one’s going to be in (the) heat, no one’s goin
