SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - This summer, Sioux City pools saw a decrease in attendance but an increase in operating costs.
According to meeting minutes from the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on Wednesday, Aug. 6 .
The pools in the Sioux City area saw a total of about 33,986 in pool attendance, which the advisory board has broken down below.
Riverside – 18355
Lewis – 7513
Leif - 8118
The board says this is a slight decrease from what was previously seen in 2024 and a big decrease from what was seen in 2023.
Additionally, the board says they have seen an increase in operational costs across all three pools due to the cost of Chlorine and a decrease in personnel costs.
