In a proactive effort to keep residents and businesses safe from credit card skimming operations, Chandler Police detectives recently partnered with the U.S. Secret Service’s Phoenix Field Office to conduct a citywide sweep of more than 100 businesses.

The goal: check for illegal skimming devices installed at point-of-sale terminals and ATMs, according to a news release.

The operation found no skimming devices in Chandler, an encouraging sign for both residents and

visitors.
