CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A ribbon cutting celebrated two years of renovations -- one floor at a time -- at Y-Haven Residential Treatment and Recovery Center at East 60th and Woodland Avenue.

“This is my place,” said client Reginald Jackson, who considers the renovation more than a ceremony. “This is my kitchen area, as you can see, nice and clean and over here is my bedroom,”

“You got your own privacy,” he explained. “Somewhere to sleep. It’s everything someone would ask for who never had nothing.”

Clients stay anywhere from six months until they are well. The long stays and small turnover create a sense of stability and community.

“(It provides the) necessary tools that we might be able to stay sober,” said client Nathaniel Hearn. “Right now, I have about two years of sobriety.”
