TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The New Philadelphia Highway Patrol Post is investigating a three-vehicle crash that killed an 18-year-old woman Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened around 215 p.m. on Interstate 77 near milepost 63 in Oxford Township, Tuscarawas County.
Ava Stamets, driving a Honda CR-V, crossed the median, entered the southbound lanes of I-77, hit a pick-up truck, and spun into another pick-up before driving off the road into a guardrail, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Six people were transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center (SEORMC) in Cambridge with minor injuries. The driver of the CR-V, Ava Stamets, was pronounced dead on scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.
