BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (KCTV) - The SEC will begin following suit with the majority of Power 4 college football next season. On Thursday, the league announced it will implement a nine-game conference football schedule beginning in the 2026 season.

The decision was approved by the league’s presidents and chancellors following a recommendation by the league’s athletic directors, and was announced by Commissioner Greg Sankey.
