Claire's found a buyer to save it from bankruptcy.
The troubled clothing retailer, which has locations in Hobart, Hammond, Valparaiso, Michigan City, Calumet City and Orland Park, will be bought out of bankruptcy by Ames Watson, a private holding company with $2 billion in revenue based out of the Washington D.C. metro and New York City.
The Hoffman Estates-based retailer had started liquidation sales at its stores at Southlake Mall in Hobart, the Valparaiso Marketplace in Valparaiso, the Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets in Michigan City, River Oaks Center in Calumet City and Orland Square Shopping Center in Orland Park. Ames Watson, which buys and transforms struggling companies, plans to pause liquidation sales at "a significant number of stores." Liquidation sales will continue at oth
