The U.S. Department of the Interior announced today a long-term offshore oil and gas leasing schedule that includes six lease sales in Alaska’s Cook Inlet through 2032, as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1).
Federal officials say the plan delivers on President Trump’s pledge to expand domestic energy production and reduce reliance on foreign imports.
“Alaska is central to America’s energy future,” said Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. “Cook Inlet will benefit from responsible offshore development that creates good-paying jobs, supports local communities, and strengthens U.S. energy security. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are unlocking Alaska’s potential as a strategic energy hub and gateway to the Arctic.”
