YOUNGSTOWN The Rotary Club of Youngstown has kicked off its annual "Operation Warm" campaign to provide winter coats for local children in need.

According to a press release, the campaign is already halfway to its goal of $20,000 thanks to the generosity of community sponsors.

Last year, the Rotary Club was able to distribute 1,300 coats to local students. This year, coats will be gifted to students attending Harding, Volney, Taft and St. Joseph the Provider Schools in Youngstown.

Committee Co-Chair Stacia Erdos says each $20 donation provides one child with a warm winter coat.

"It's a simple way for community members to make a big impact in a child's life. They will feel the warmth of our care, and donors will feel the warmth of their gratitude," Erdos said.
