SRP is looking to double its capacity to supply electricity in the next decade to meet a growing demand.

“In the next five-10 years, you’re going to see some stunning numbers from us,” Karla Moran, SRP Economic Development manager, told the Mesa Economic Development Advisory Board Aug. 5.

Hundreds of miles of transmission and nearly twice the number of transformers are needed, according to Moran.

“So we really want customers to bring us in early, or our partners bring us in early so we can provide the best solution for that end user,” she said. “It is getting more and more difficult as we get capacity constraint across our system.
