LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- The prosecutor in the case involving the injured high school wrestler is urging the district's athletic director to be fired.

A lawsuit filed by a minor identified as R.D. accuses Okemos Public Schools and wrestling coach Clint Guess of causing life-threatening injuries during a Dec. 12, 2024, practice.

Doctors at the University of Michigan trauma unit said her Stage 4 liver laceration and Stage 5 abdominal hematoma are normally seen in car-crash victims, and Sparrow Hospital staff warned any treatment delay could have been fatal.

Prosecuting attorney Jamie White said the Okemos Public Schools Athletic Director, Ken Hintze, should resign.
