LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- In a show of unity, Odd Nodd Art Supply, Bad Annie's, and many other Old Town businesses pushed back against hate and raised money dedicated to justice and inclusion in a Thursday fundraising event.

"We don't see that kind of negativity around Old Town and obviously it's not reflective of anything we see in Old Town or in Lansing," said Odd Nodd owner Casey Sorrow. "We're just looking to shine a light on positive community organizations rather than this one individual who came out and tried to spread his ignorant and hateful message."

Sorrow says an incident where someone vandalized the area with Nazi imagery was demoralizing, but the community outreach as a result of the incident was pivotal in the creation of the fundraiser.
