Aaron Ekblad showed the Stanley Cup his old OHL stomping grounds on Thursday.
The Florida Panthers defenseman brought the trophy to Sadlon Arena, home of the OHL’s Barrie Colts, in Barrie, Ontario.
Ekblad played for the Colts from 2011-14 before he was drafted by the Panthers with the first overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
The two-time Stanley Cup champion held a special event at the arena to celebrate with local fans.
Ekblad signed autographs, posed for pictures and pointed out his name etched into the trophy for the fans.
One young fan asked the veteran defenseman how much the Cup weighed and then Ekblad let the fan hold his championship ring from last season.
