UNION COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The Union County School District is working on a new approach for student education.

It's called Union Uplifted, and the school district will follow a "cradle to career" plan that brings together the community, local non-profits, and business leaders.

According to Union County School District Superintendent Joey Haney, the cradle to career program will follow students from birth to high school graduation and beyond.

"It is designed to take that kid at birth, as it says cradle, and begin to implement those support systems to the child, to the family, and help them navigate through life, and getting ready to start school and kindergarten through 12th grade," Haney said.
