KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People in Knoxville are divided over a 13-acre piece of land in Chilhowee Park. The Emerald Youth Foundation wants to buy that land for close to $1 million.

After some community members raised their concerns, the Knoxville City Council delayed its final vote on the matter. The Sixth District's current councilmember, Gwen McKenzie, has promised to hold a public meeting.

The Sixth District is up for election this year, and the Knoxville primary election is next week. There are five candidates running in the primary for that seat: Charles Fraizer, Denzel Grant, Stan Johnson, George Raudenbush and Lawrence Williams.
