HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) -One Cumberland man was taken to jail after police obtained complaint warrants regarding sexual abuse, sodomy, and strangulation.
Deputies with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office as well as other agencies collaborated to arrest Christopher Shipman, 44, on Thursday.
Police said he was taken into custody without incident.
Police said multiple search warrants were executed in connection with the arrest warrants.
Shipman was charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy - victim under the age of 12, two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree - victim under the age of 12, and first-degree strangulation.
He was taken to the Harlan County Detention Center.
He is being held there on a $500,000 cash bond.
