Court finds Trump administration’s legal maneuvers to keep former lawyer in power were unlawful

A federal judge ruled on Thursday that Alina Habba, President Donald Trump’s lawyer, has been unlawfully serving as the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey. The court’s decision stated that the Trump administration’s actions to keep Habba in the role did not follow federal law, and her term as interim U.S. attorney ended in July.
