The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched a federal probe into Tesla for not properly reporting crashes as required.

Documents from the agency state that Tesla submitted “numerous incident reports” months after the crashes occurred, despite a federal rule requiring companies to report such incidents within five days of becoming aware of them.
