Following the success of its inaugural Civic Leadership Academy, Rowan County launched the second annual Civic Leadership Academy, beginning Oct. 16.
The nine-week program is designed to deepen citizens’ understanding of county operations, foster meaningful connections with local officials, and inspire active civic engagement.
Graduates of last year’s Civic Leadership Academy praised the program for its eye-opening insights into county operations and the dedication of public servants. Participants shared how the experience deepened their understanding of the roles and responsibilities across departments — from public safety and social services to infrastructure and planning.
