ST. LOUIS COUNTY (First Alert 4) -- First Alert 4 continues to ask questions about what led up to a man being killed by St. Ann officers overnight Tuesday.

St. Ann police say 37-year-old Troy Hamilton was attempting to use a gun while struggling with police. Police say there is video, and while we wait for our requests for that video to be released, we are asking what the process is for an investigation like this, and what transparency the public should expect.

“It’s an intense situation. It’s really sad,” said Sam Alton, a lawyer and former chief of staff for former St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell.

Alton said everyone — from the family to the public — should wait to make any judgments about this week’s officer-involved shooting until all the evidence comes out.
