CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) - The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said that one man was arrested and charged with distributing child sex abuse material in Cherokee County.
Deputies said the investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a tip that a man had uploaded child sexual abuse material.
The distributor was identified as 39-year-old Corey Benjamin Sneed of the Peachtree Community in Cherokee County.
On August 15, deputies executed a search warrant at Sneed's residence. Authorities said that multiple electronic devices were found containing child sexual abuse material. Sneed wasw then arrested August 20.
Sneed was charged with ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and ten counts of third-degree exploitation
