OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Some changes are coming soon for drivers in Oshkosh who need to cross the Fox River.

Start planning your detours, as one of the city’s major bridges is expected to close for seven months.

Beginning September 2, the Main Street bridge will be shut down completely to vehicles and pedestrian traffic until April of next year for a full rehabilitation project.

With the bridge being a critical connector in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Department of Transportation Communications Manager Mark Kantola says it’s important to keep up to date on repairs to ensure its longevity.

Marine traffic will continue until October 15, when the navigation season ends. Boats will still be able to go underneath during the beginning portion of the closure, but that will then close before reopening f
