The Houston Astros have signed veteran pitcher Craig Kimbrel.
The move was first announced Thursday evening by ESPN MLB Senior Insider Jeff Passan.
Kimbrel debuted in 2010 with the Atlanta Braves. He has also played with the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles.
He has earned nine All-Star selections and two Reliever of the Year awards in his career. He also won the World Series as a member of the Boston Red Sox in 2018.
Kimbrel joins an Astros team that has been ravaged by injuries. The Astros are in the midst of their worst skid of the 2025 season so far, as the cling to a 1.5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners in the AL West.
