JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — This was the first year the Jerome School District launched its own transportation service instead of contracting it out. Superintendent Brent Johnson said it got off to a rough start.

“What we had was just mix-ups with students that got on the wrong bus or didn’t get off at the right stop. We had some mix ups there. That’s where our confusion happened. So we had students that came back to the bus barn after the route was over and then we were able to reunite them with their families. Everyone was safe, but it did take far longer than we wanted too,” Superintendent Johnson said.

Parents also complained the route times were too long, with one parent saying her son wasn’t dropped off until 6:30 p.m.
