WHEELING — A new school year is about to start in Ohio County Schools, and students and teachers agree learning goes down a lot easier when you know your way around the school building.
Wheeling Park High School hosted its open house for freshmen and new students Thursday night. They got a chance to tour the building, snag their schedules for the upcoming semester and meet WPHS staff — even therapy dog Parker.
“Tonight is our open house we call ‘Party On The Plaza,'” Principal Meredith Dailer said. “It is the time for all our new students to come get their schedules, get their Chromebooks and meet their teachers.
“I will also have a principal’s message in the gym throughout the night to welcome families and give them some tips for the new school year.”
