PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland is bracing for its second heat wave of the summer, with an excessive heat watch in effect starting Friday and highs expected to reach around 100 degrees through the weekend.

Multnomah County has yet to announce whether it will open dedicated cooling shelters this weekend. The county has specific thresholds that dictate when they open cooling shelters, and those thresholds have yet to be meet, as of Thursday afternoon.
