WASHINGTON — D.C.’s popular Summer Restaurant Week has been extended through Aug. 31, the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington announced on Thursday.
The event, which boosts restaurant traffic and enthusiasm, arrived this year during President Donald Trump’s crackdown on the District.
The event was initially set to end on Aug. 24.
Some restaurateurs say the federal surge led to a decline in business.
But after OpenTable reported a sharp dip in reservations last week , the RAMW says restaurants reported a 29 percent year-over-year increase on day one of Restaurant Week.
During Restaurant Week, diners can get a three-course meal for a set price at more than 350 participating locations.
