Northrop senior wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford announced his commitment to Ohio State on July 18, choosing the Buckeyes over many suitors, such as Ole Miss, Indiana and Michigan.

Guilford is the state’s top-ranked recruit according to 247Sports and On3 ratings, and he’s coming off a junior season in which he caught 35 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns. But even with his post-graduation plans set, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder still has some business to accomplish with his fellow Bruins seniors.

Northrop went 2-8 last season, with wins over New Haven and South Side bookending the regular season. The Bruins are just 4-26 over the last three years.
