BRIGHTON, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Brighton City Councilor is no longer facing any charges after he was accused of illegally releasing video to local media outlets.
J erome McMullin Jr. had been charged after law enforcement say he recorded surveillance video from Brighton’s community center that showed a double homicide on December 13 and shared the video with local news outlets, reportedly while within the crime scene. The clip shared with the media showed the suspect fleeing the scene and leaving in a car.
A Jefferson County Circuit Judge found McMullin Jr. not guilty of obstructing governmental operations and also dismissed a tampering charge.
