CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A Chandler woman who survived a snowboarding accident went from fighting for her life in a coma to walking and talking with ease in a matter of months.
Izzy Siniscalchi is considered a miracle. “I feel really good to be where I’m at,” she said,
Doctors weren’t sure if she was going to survive, let alone ever walk or talk again. “I’m just so lucky,” said Siniscalchi.
It’s been almost seven months since the 20-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury after a snowboarding accident in Flagstaff .
“I don’t remember snowboarding. I don’t remember going up the ski lift,” said Siniscalchi. “That’s it. Goes blank.”
Her friends fill in those blanks. In January, during the second run of the day at Arizona Snowbowl, she fell off a 70-foot cliff.
