A Nebraska woman convicted of murder in a quadruple homicide is asking for a new trial.
Lawyers for Carrie Jones filed the motion last week in Cedar County court. In the order, they allege insufficient evidence, newly discovered evidence, errors of law and jury misconduct. The filing alleges Jones' right to a fair trial was violated because of those issues.
A jury convicted Jones of first-degree murder, evidence tampering and accessory on Aug. 7. She's scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 20; a hearing on the motion for a new trial is also scheduled for that day.
