OMAHA, Neb. —

For now, the only thing Big Grove is pouring in Omaha is coffee. But that's not what the Iowa-based company is known for.

"I think with our award-winning beers, we're going to do some amazing things here in Omaha," said Big Grove Brewery COO Mike Wher.

The coffee shop has been open for months. The University of Nebraska Medicine cut the ribbon on their Catalyst Building in May. The building in the campus' new "EDGE District" hosts both the coffee shop and a taphouse that's about ready to open.

Big Grove began brewing in 2013 and now has four locations, all in Iowa. Wher said they looked in all of Iowa's bordering states for their next best fit.

"We chose Omaha just based on what an amazing community it is," Wehr said.
