HARLAN, Iowa —
In Harlan, Iowa, the Cyclones are getting a brand new middle school.
Renovations were also recently completed to the district's high school.
Harlan Community Schools unveiled the new learning facility Thursday in a ribbon cutting.
"We just appreciate that the community of Harlan allowed us to create such a wonderful space here. And we're very excited also to show off the high school as well. And we're just, just very elated," Jenny Barnett, Harlan Community Schools superintendent, said.
Harlan Community Schools used a 2022 school bond that passed, allocating almost $23 million dollars to cover $33 million in construction, including the $15 million price tag for the new middle school.
Students return to school on Aug. 25.
