GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- One person is dead after an accident occurred in the Town of Geddes, that shutdown Interstate 690 eastbound for several hours on August 21.

At 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-690.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2011 Ford F-250 pickup truck and a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle were both traveling eastbound, when the pickup truck changed from the driving lane to the passing lane. The motorcycle then struck the rear of the pickup truck.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old male from Baldwinsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The pickup truck driver was tested at the scene by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert and showed no signs of impairment. No ticke
