PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A woman was sent to the hospital after a crash on War Memorial Drive near University Street on Thursday.

Peoria police officers responded to the two-vehicle crash around 8:30 p.m., Peoria police spokesperson Semone Roth said.

One woman was sent to the hospital; the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. The cause of the incident also remains under investigation.

The eastbound lane of War Memorial Drive is currently closed while crews clean up the scene.
